Alekos Galanos (Greek: Αλέκος Γαλανός, Mytilene, 01/05/1922 – Piraeus, 06/2008) was a Greek playwright. He wrote several plays, the most popular of which was the social drama The Red Lanterns. He developed a multitude of activities around the theater, serving it as a playwright, as an actor, as a director, as a theater teacher, as an organizer of amateur theater performances, etc. His professional career was as a civil servant (agronomist) at the Ministry of Agriculture, where he combined his knowledge and experience from the field of theater with the mass education of the country's rural population (1954-1985).
